Course content
Conflicts and their resolution. The specifics of communication with clients in various development stages. Communication with clients with different types of disabilities. Disorders in interpersonal communication, communication with problematic types of individuals. Intercultural communication. Communication with a client with a serious illness, with a dying person, with survivors. Conflict resolution and problem communication strategies practice. Practice the specifics of communication with a child, adult, senior citizen. Training in the specifics of communication with clients with different types of disabilities. Training in the specifics of communication with problematic types of individuals. Intercultural communication problems, means facilitating intercultural communication. Practice the specifics of communication with a client with a serious illness, with a dying person, with a survivor.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information about the nature of interpersonal communication with a focus on its use in relation to clients of health services. At the end of the course, students have not only the required amount of theoretical knowledge, but also communication skills that enable them to act professionally in various situations when working with clients and their loved ones.
Students apply the knowledge and experience gained in lectures and exercises into practice, they manage communication with people across all ages and they can communicate with individuals that can cause problems. Students can solve conflicts and problems using assertive techniques.

Fulfillment of mandatory active 80% participation in exercises. Fulfillment of mandatory attendance at lectures. Completion of a written test or an oral exam as decided by the subject guarantor.
