Course content
|
Introduction into pathology, department of pathology and anatomy. Work with biopsy specimen (processing and evaluating procedures). Principles of work with biological material. Regressive and metabolic changes, necrosis, gangrene, atrophy. Inflammation - general signs of inflammation. Specific and nonspecific inflammation. Progressive changes, repair, regeneration. Hypertrophy, hyperplasia, transplantation, dysplasia. Pathological oncology. Selected chapters in pathology of cardiovascular system. Selected chapters in pathology of digestive system. Selected chapters in pathology of kidneys and urinary system. Selected chapters in pathology of male and female reproductive system, breast tumours.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to provide basic information about causes of origin and development of diseases, and explain their morphological manifestations.
Students understand etiopathogenesis of diseases, distinguish disorders and changes on the level of cells, tissues, individual organs, and organism as a whole.
