Course content
Introduction to the field of pathology, pathological and anatomical division. Principles of work with biological material. Causes of diseases, prevention, and etiopathogenesis of diseases. Regressive and metabolic changes, necrosis, gangrene, and atrophy. Inflammation - general manifestations of infection. Specific and nonspecific inflammation. Progressive changes, regeneration, and reparation. Hypertrophy, hyperplasia, transplantation, and dysplasia.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide students with basic information about the causes and development of diseases and also to explain their morphological manifestations.
The student understands the etiopathogenesis of diseases, and distinguishes disorders and changes at the level of cells, tissues, individual organs or the body as a whole.

Written examination

Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. Written examination.
