Introduction, basic concepts of health care law, and sources. Council of Europe Convention on the protection of human rights. Legal establishment of the position of the patient and his or her loved one. Socio-economic security in the health and social area, public health insurance. The legal status of providers of health care services. Professional associations and forced membership. The right to information and confidentiality obligation, informed consent, and notification requirement. The legal regulation of medicines. The legal regulation of advertising in health care. Responsibility for the provision of health care. Internet information sources in the field. Convention on biomedicine, national legislative concerning health care. Ethical codes of health care professions and protecting the rights and dignity of the patient. Health care reform laws. Act. No. 220/1991 Coll. Solving a case study involving informed consent, obligatory confidentiality, and notification requirement. Running a pharmacy business. Legal regulation and ethical self-regulation of advertising in health care. Analysis of the relationship of private and public legal responsibility using practical examples.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students, in a comprehensive way, with basic issues law of health, to the extent that they could apply the acquired knowledge to the practice of the health and social worker.
Students know the issue in the scope of the syllabus of lectures and practicum sessions and apply their knowledge to practical activities of the health and social worker.

Assessment methods and criteria

Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Work-related product analysis
Completion of compulsory 70% attendance at the lectures and practicum sessions. Completion and presentation of 2 assignment papers. Completion of an application to the court or public authority. Successful completion of a written test or an oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.
