Course content
Stress (theory of stress, stressors, health impact of stress). Participation of transmission, environment and upbringing to psyche development. Developmental theories (E. Erikson, S. Freud). Prenatal period. Neonatal period. The infant period. Toddler period. Preschool age and younger school age. Pre-puberty and puberty period. The period of adolescence. The period of adulthood - differences in the mental life of men and women. The period of old age. Working with groups. Principles of teamwork. Team building and development. Leadership and management. Working with families in crisis. Interdisciplinary cooperation ? nurse, doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, social worker, spiritual advisor, physiotherapist, community care, etc. Working with case studies and professional resources. Spirituality. Hope, meaning, gratitude, forgiveness. Basics of psychotherapeutic techniques.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to pass the students the basic information from the field of general, evolutionary and social psychology, to inform them about the essence of a personality with an accent to the personality of a patient.
The student is able to explain the position of psychology as a science in the system of social sciences, he/she can analyse psychical activities, processes and states and their disorders. Through the recognition of his/her personality the student is able to understand more other people. He/she can recognize the differences of human psyche in every single period of life. He//she can use the basic techniques to manage stress situations.
