Course content
Stress (theory of stress, stressors, and influence of stress on health). Mental hygiene. Ontogenesis. The concept and nature of mental life. The proportion of heredity, environment, and upbringing in the development of the mind. Developmental theories (E. Erikson, S. Freud). Prenatal period. Neonatal period. Toddler period. The preschool-age period and the younger school-age period. The period of prepuberty and puberty. Fear and anxiety. Empathy - practice. Productive and non-productive approach to the sick. Psychological approach to people with a disability.

Learning outcomes
TThe aim of the subject is to give to students basic information from the area of general, developmental, and social psychology and to acquaint them with the essence of the patient's /client's personality.
Students use knowledge gained in the subject for their professional activities.

Assessment methods and criteria

Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. The fulfillment of compulsory 80% of active participation in exercises. Successful completion of a written or oral examination according to the course. guarantor's decision. Fulfillment of the seminar work.
