Course content
Introduction to the concept of the course, sources of legislation. International treaties for the protection of children and women, Community legislation. Establishment and termination of marriage, the elements of collision in marriage, citizenship in relation to family law. Relationships between parents and children, alimony in family law. Divorce and its legislation. Intervention in the exercise of parental responsibility, family redevelopment. Protecting children and incapacitated persons in judicial proceedings. Alternative forms of child care. Writing the application for divorce. Writing a draft application for the establishment of maintenance. Practical training in calculating benefits for foster parents. Facilities for children requiring immediate help.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students comprehensively with basic problems in sector of family law to the extent that he/ she can applies the knowledge gained in the practice of health and social worker.
The student will learn the issue within the scope of the syllabus of lectures and exercises and his/ her knowledge applies to practical activities of health and social worker.

Assessment methods and criteria

The fulfilment of compulsory 80% attendance at lectures. The fulfilment of compulsory 80 % active participation in seminars. Elaboration and presentation of two credit works. Processing the submiting a proposal to the court or public authority. Completion of a written test or an oral examination as determined by the course guarantor.
