Course content
Introduction to the subject of Basal Stimulation (history, theoretical background, objectives, current situation in the Czech Republic). Other concepts and techniques used to stimulate perception (reminiscence, Snoezelen, kinaesthetic mobilization, ...). Superstructural elements of the concept (optical and auditory stimulation). Initial touch - experiential seminar. Autobiographical history. Somatic stimulation (baths, positioning, micro-positioning). Techniques to promote breathing. Vibratory stimulation. Vestibular stimulation. Olfactory and oral stimulation. Tactile-haptic stimulation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the concept of Basal Stimulation, its history and the current situation in the Czech Republic, the basic and extension elements of the concept. To teach students to use the basic techniques of the individual elements of the Basal Stimulation concept. To familiarize students with other techniques used in patients with different degrees and forms of perceptual disorders.
Students know the basic and extension elements of the concept of Basal Stimulation. Students are able to use the elements of the concept. Students know and understand the indications for the use of the individual elements of the concept and select appropriate procedures for patients in accordance with their medical condition.
