Course content
Introduction to crisis intervention, and terminology. Crisis intervention face to face. Telephone crisis intervention. Working with emotions in crisis intervention. Crisis intervention with the couple, family and natural group. Forms of crisis intervention. Workplace of crisis assistance, services and interventions. The crisis in the context of psychopathology. Psychosocial support system in a crisis intervention. Putting into the issue. Practical basic procedures of crisis intervention, face to face. The techniques of telephone crisis intervention. Crisis intervention for children and their families. Crisis intervention with adolescents. Crisis intervention in partnership, marriage. Crisis intervention for the elderly - the theme of death and dying. Psychopathology issues in crisis intervention. Crisis intervention for domestic violence.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with issues of crisis intervention in the work of the medico-social worker.
Student knows the basic forms and techniques of crisis intervention. Student becomes familiar with the principles of working with emotions in crisis intervention.

The fulfilment of compulsory attendance at lectures and seminars. Elaboration and presentation of the assigned seminar work. Written test or oral exam fulfilment according to course guarantor decision.
