Course content
|
Becoming acquainted with the primary health care system in the area of health care and health promotion. Becoming acquainted with activities of organizations involved in the area of primary care, in the section of health education and health promotion. Assessment of the development of the healthy individual, family, or group. Application of educational methods towards achieving health. Practicing nursing activities with a progressive implementation of the nursing process in a natural environment. Using theoretical findings and mastering practical skills. Respecting the patients' rights. Applying principles of ethics during work. An individual nursing care in a selected group of ill patients, using the nursing process. Application of nursing procedures and principles to the care of ill adults and children. Respecting special characteristics of the childhood age. The internship course is conducted in groups and individually. Organizational and methodological leadership is provided by a nursing instructor or a professional from the clinical setting.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge about organization of work in individual types of health care institutions and to apply gained knowledge and skills to clinical practice settings.
The student masters nursing procedures and actions according to standards. The student seeks out and meets the needs of clients based on an active and individualized nursing care implemented according to the nursing process, participates in interdisciplinary team collaboration, respects and abides by valid laws and regulations.

It is compulsory to complete 100% attendance in the internship. It is compulsory to complete the determined procedures and nursing processes. Completing assigned written work. Successful completion of a practical examination.
