Course content
Introduction to the issue of preventive medicine, definition of health, basic terms, health support and development. Primary, secondary prevention, goals, tasks, content, objectives, principles, preventable illnesses. Programs to support health, principles, goals, and priorities, health support and development, program implementation, measures. National programs to support health, the environment, and the workplace environment, lifestyle. Prevention of non-infectious illnesses, metabolic illnesses, the locomotive apparatus, mental health. History of vaccination, meaning, vaccination status in the CR and in the world, vaccination in the future, prevention of infectious illnesses. Dispensarization, introduction to the issue, basic terms, job description, legislative foundation, goals and objectives. Dispensarization, practical implementation, application practice, basic procedures and forms.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with fundamental principles and procedures focusing on prevention and dispensarization of non-infectious illnesses of mass incidence. To provide students with information about implementation of the world health declaration and the national program to support health.
The student understands and demonstrates responsibility for health education, is able to apply primary prevention care programs to practice, and demonstrates creativity in fulfilling their goals and priorities. He/she masters primary and secondary prevention methods and dispensarization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Successful completion of a written test. Completion of compulsory 65% attendance at the lectures and practicum sessions. Conditions for granting credit - oral defense of a written term paper on a given topic.
