Course content
Concept of contemporary Czech nursing, legislation, current state, changes, future prospects. Historical context of development of Czech nursing. History and present state of education in nursing. History and present state of professional organizations. Quality and safety of care, risk management. History and present state. Accreditation, certification, standardization. Internal audit. Nursing documentation, related legislation History and present state. Publishing and lecturing in nursing. Preparation of a grant, conference. Vision, mission, strategy of a health care facility. Terminology in nursing, NANDA taxonomy II., NIC, NOC, development, current state. Indicators of quality of care and their monitoring. Standards. Process management. Analysis, formation. Preparation of internal audit

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to broaden students' knowledge of the issues of contemporary Czech nursing.
Based on the knowledge of the history of Czech nursing, students understand the present and perspectives of this discipline. They are able to conduct critical evaluation and form the opinion about nursing as a scientific as well as practical discipline. They know the current concept of Czech nursing and are well-versed in the legal provisions relating to the exercise of the nursing profession. They are able to use the acquired knowledge in practice, with the aim to improve the quality of nursing care.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Completing assigned written work. Successful completion of an oral examination.
