Course content
Introduction - key term, types of education, andragogy, development of education in nursing, education assumptions, legal norms, role of a nurse in education, theory of learning. Education process - overview, assessment of the person being educated, educational needs, readiness to learn, learning styles. Assessment of the person being educated - developmental periods from birth to the old age, educational strategies for each period. Assessment of the person being educated - motivation, cooperation, client's behavior and health promotion, obstacles in education, literacy, tools measuring understanding of educational materials. Assessment of the person being educated - tools measuring understandability of educational materials, Mistrík's formula of a text complexity, other selected tests. Assessment of the person being educated - strategies for education of addicted clients, disabled clients, and clients with special needs. Education plan - educational objective, Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. Education of an individual and of a group, ice-breaking methods, education plan, educational contracts, educational environment and means. Implementation of education - teaching methods for education of an individual and of a group, support of effectiveness of education, inviting an expert into an educational lesson. Implementation of education - using questions / handling questions in educational lesson, feedback in educational lesson, technology in education. Evaluation of education - types of evaluation, educational record in practice. Experience with education - discussion: learning styles, readiness to learn. Education in childhood, education of adults, education in the old age. Role of a family in education. Understanding of educational materials. Education of addicted clients, disabled clients, and clients with special needs. Educational objectives, education plan, educational contracts, and preparation of educational environment. Teaching methods. Evaluation. Educational record in practice.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide deeper information concerning the education process and to practice education skills using a wide variety of education methods.
The student practically applies knowledge and experience gained in the lectures and the practicum. The student is able to obtain educational case history. The student masters developing and using education and educational programs for the healthy, the ill, and the handicapped in all stages of development. With success, the student implements an evaluation of the educational process.

Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. Complection of compulsory active 80% attendance in exercises. Completing assigned written work. Successful completion of a written test.
