Course content
National health and social policy. Medical systems. Prevention of infectious diseases - situation in the Czech Republic and abroad. State health policy - public health. Rules, principles, capabilities. Public health insurance, basic principles and rules.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize the participants of the specialization training with the health and social policy of the state and with health systems. The course deals with the role of the state and its institutions in providing health care to the citizens of the Czech Republic and a comparison of this system with systems in other countries of the world. It also focuses on health policy as such, how it is enforced, the determinants of health care quality and the mechanisms that enable the health care system in the Czech Republic to operate.
Students become familiar with the issues of health and social policy of the state, health care provision and the operation of the health care system.
