Course content
|
The hospice movement from a historical and contemporary perspective. Definition of hospice care. Hospice forms and types of organizational securement of hospice care. Indications for inpatient and mobile hospice care. The hospice experience in the CR. The most immediate aims of the hospice movement in the CR. Case studies from hospice care.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquire basic terms and principles of individual forms of hospice care, specifying indications for them and their place among other methods of care of terminally ill patients and their loved ones, including the bereaved.
The student acquires basic orientation and understanding necessary for meaningful attendance at a hospice practical internship, he/she will be theoretically prepared for work on a hospice team, for communication with the patient and his/her loved ones, and will be acquainted with special characteristics of performing nursing documentation in a hospice.
