Course content
|
Development of communities in EU - territorial administrative units - theories of community development. Community, community care, community services and institutions. Institutional care following up on community care. Nursing in community (the role of a community nurse and a midwife in community care).System of health care and social services in community (in the neigbourhood, in the city- in the region - in the state), Care for seniors and chronically ill. Care for women and mothers. Care for children and adolescents. Care for family. Issues of community care in culturally specific groups. A visit to Centre for development of care for mental health and Centre of Christian Help - a regional provider of social and health care. Nursing process focused on community.

The aim of of the course is to intensify the provision of information on community nursing.
Students understand the concept of "community", its main social functions in satisfying needs of people and its hierarchy: individual-family-neigbourhood-city-region-state-nation-world. Students realize the necessity if healthy social and natural environment in community for the life of an individual and their family
