Course content
Job processing. Definition of costs and prices of products (calculation). Total quality management system, statistical process control, analysis tools. Information systems. Investment planning and realization. Printing plant planning. Installation of machinery and devices. Work safety in printing plants.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop understanding of current concepts of management and control in printing industry, including quality evaluation and management, and respective legislation. The objective is to clarify organization and management fundamentals necessary for successful activity in printing business.
On completion of this course, the student will be able to describe important aspects of job processing workflow and investment and printing plant planning, to determine product price based on costs, to explain principles of total quality management and information systems and to characterize respective methods, standards and legislation.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of preceding courses, in particular Printing machinery I and II, Automation and control of printing processes, Business economics and management I and II, and Financial management.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

The course will be assessed through oral examination of selected topics proving an insight into course contents.
