Course content
Basic characteristics of materials and their testing. Overview of technical materials. Surface treatment of materials. Mechanics (statics). Detachable and non-detachable joints. Mechanical transmissions. Conduits and armatures. Engineering drawing. Dimensioning. Basic parts of printing and finishing machines. Dividing of printing machines according to construction. Basic parts of sheetwise and web printing machines. Diagnostic of defects. Basic operations used in printing production.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Demonstration
Learning outcomes
Introduction to the problem of printing machines and finishing equipments. There are define and bring out fundamental terms and technical tools for description of construction and functional elements of machines. Students are learning understand to engineering drawing and interpret technical descriptions and definitions.
Ability to orient in basic engineering drawing and spare parts catalogues. Drawing of simple engineering drawings. Planning of basic productive instruments servicing. Gained knowledge will apply in connecting subject Printing machinery I and II.
Prerequisites
Basic Knowledge of Math and Physics from Secondary School.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Examination. Current checks ? 2 tests (20 %). Oral part of examination (80 %).
