Course content
Print converting. Segmentation of bookbinding. Technological processes of bookbinding production. Cutting machines. Folding machines. Collating machines. Adhesive binding. Sewn binding. Production of envelopes and book covers. Preparation of book block for stiff binding. Finishing aggregates for web presses. Finishing of graphic label and covers. Finishing of calendar production. Finishing of flexible covers. Finishing of self-adhesive labels. Finishing of cartonnage production. Printing and finishing of securities. Printing and finishing of blank form. Packaging of production. Transportation of materials.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Demonstration
Learning outcomes
Acquaintance of students with construction and functional systems of machines for refinement and finishing of printed products. Explication of fundamental principles of technological progress for better understanding to machines and arrangements.
Students after graduation of this subject have knowledge about equipment for refinement and finishing of printed products. Students know single parts of machines and production lines. Students can determine on which equipment it is possible to realize given product. Gained knowledge will apply in connecting subject Laboratory practices in printing technology II, Technological seminar.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Courses of Bacheor Study Program (Principles of Mech. Engineering, Introduction to Printing Technology).

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Examination. Current checks ? 2 tests (20 %). Oral part of examination (80 %).
