Course content
|
1. Introduction to photochemistry. 2. Light and Matter: electromagnetic radiation, photoelectric effect, radiometric and photometric quantities and units, black body radiation, basic photochemical laws. 2. Excited states of organic molecules, transitions between energy states, radiative transitions, non-radiative transitions, quenching of excited states, energy levels in solids, UV and VIS spectra, LBB law. 3. Chemical reactions of ecited molecules, mechanism of photochemical reactions. 4. Sources of photochemically active radiation: arc lamps and lasers, principles of operation. 5. Photochemical reactions in industry. Photopolymerization, photocrosslinking, photodegradation and photostabilization, application in printing art industry. 6. Photoraphic optics. Basic papremetrs of lenses, f-stop numbers, depth of field, resolving power, lens aberations. 7. Black and white ohoitgraphy. 8. Colorimetry basic: atributes of colours, colour spaces and calculations in CIE LAB (LCH) a CIE LUV, standard observer and standard illumination, metameric colours, colour mesurement. 9. Colour photography. 10. Digital photography

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course Photographic Processes is to provide students with chemical and technological methods in used photographic technologies and pre-press technologies.
BC program provides industry-relevant training for people who to work in the sophisticated electronic environment of the desktop publishing and graphic arts industry.
