Course content
Basic properties of linear and branch polymer. Preparation of polymers. Principles of curing of UV curable printing inks. Phase behaviour of linear thermoplastic polymers . Viscoelasticity of polymers. Viscosity of fluids and diluted solutions of polymers. Measurement of viscosity. Mechanical properties of polymers. Electrical properties of polymers. Nonlinear polymers, polymer network. Polymer composites and polymer mixtures. Influence of structure and types of components on mechanical properties of composites

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
Acquire knowledge that can help solve technological problems connected with treatment of printing inks and varnishes, printed materials (especially of polymeric foils) and also materials for edification of prints (film laminating, hot stamping etc.)
Students acquire information about physical properties of polymer materials and composites, about possibilities of modification of rheological, mechanical and electrical properties. This subject is part of the final bachelor examination.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of courses of Bachelor study program (Introduction to Organic Chemistry, Physics, Macromolecular Chemistry).

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

The examination is oral. Basic form is discussion about selected fields (70 %). Final assessment also includes two control tests that are written during semester (30 %).
