Course content
Framework content of the practice Midwifery care through the midwifery process of women in perioperative care. Pain management. Nutritional care of a client (nutritional screening). Education of clients at all stages of perioperative care. Organisation and management in perioperative care units. Performing the duties of a circulating midwife in the operating theatre. Instrument handling and instrumentation for all basic performances and procedures in operating theatres. Professional practice is realized in the form of direct and indirect care of clients in accordance with the applicable legislation under the guidance of the practice guarantor, a professional pedagogical worker of the faculty or a professional from the healthcare facility. The procedures performed in the professional practice and all professional activities related to the professional practice are recorded in the "Record of procedures and other professional activities in perioperative care", for the maintenance of which each student is responsible. In addition to the performances, the record contains summary information on the preparation and conduct of the professional practice. It also includes the objectives of the professional practice, the rights and obligations of the students, the competences of the mentors, the criteria for the evaluation of the students, the records of training in occupational health and safety, fire protection, the procedure in case of accidents, injuries, and an overview of attendance. Students have access to the faculty nursing documentation with which they work in the professional practice. Everything is available on the student intranet. The guarantor of the practice regularly checks and evaluates the outcomes of the professional practice. He/she is responsible for the planning and coordination of the professional practice, provides consultation to the students during their practical training and carries out the evaluation of the students. On the basis of the student's results and in accordance with the curriculum, he/she draws up a further plan for the placement together with the student. The credit is awarded on the basis of confirmation of the number of hours worked, the fulfilled compulsory performances and a written evaluation of the student, which is prepared by a healthcare professional or the faculty member responsible for the management of the students' traineeship. On the basis of the student's results in accordance with the study plan, the teacher and the student shall draw up a further practice plan together. Students shall submit a written evaluation of their own professional practice.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills when working in the conditions of clinical practice, to get experience focused on the organization and management of facilities providing perioperative care.
Students use analysis, evaluation, and synthesis to solve problematic situations while treating clients in perioperative care. They participate in improving the quality of midwifery care, master basic techniques of physical examination of clients, independently prepare and implement the education of clients, they are able to plan the process of midwifery care for clients in the perioperative period with respect to their cultural differences. Students participate in collaboration within the healthcare team, work with the client's family, and respect and comply with applicable laws and standards. Students are familiar with the basic instrumentation for the specified surgical procedures, master the basic assistance in these procedures, and perform the work of a midwife circulating in the operating room.

100% compulsory attendance at the professional practice. Fulfilment of specified procedures. Doing assigned written work. Passing the practical exam. The study program is a specialized study of non-medical health workers, and therefore it is necessary to provide a confirmation of completion of the mandatory scope of the profession according to the applicable legislation.
