Course content
|
PPatient care in perioperative care in the form of a nursing process. The use of NANDA domains in the diagnostic phase of the process in perioperative care. Pain management. Patient education at all stages of perioperative care. Organization and management in perioperative care workplaces. Care of medical devices at the workplace of central sterilization and perioperative care. Performing the duties of circulating nurses in the operating room. Instrumentation for all basic procedures and procedures in operating theatres. Manipulation with instrumentarium.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills when working in the conditions of clinical practice, gaining experience focused on the organization and management of institutions providing perioperative care.
The student uses analyses, evaluations and syntheses in solving problem situations during the treatment of patients in perioperative care, participates in improving the quality of care of the general nurse, manages basic techniques, independently prepares and implements patient education, is able to plan the process in perioperative care for patients in the perioperative period with regard to their cultural differences. The student participates in cooperation within the medical team, cooperates with the patient's family, respects and adheres to applicable laws and standards.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Student portfolio analysis
Fulfillment of the mandatory 100% participation in professional practice. Fulfillment of specified performances. Processing of assigned written work. Verification of knowledge in the form of an oral examination and defence of a written work.
