Course content
Review of the foundations of ultrasound diagnostics. Normal ultrasound findings in the uterus, ovaries, and vagina. Ultrasound diagnostics - tumours and cysts of internal genital organs. Ultrasound in perioperative care. Examination of residual urine. Examination of free fluid. Examination methods in urogynaecology. Ultrasound in perioperative care - practice. Nursing care in the urogynaecology outpatient clinic. Perioperative care conducting an examination and perioperative securement of the urinary pathways - practice assistance.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquire terminology and practical skills in the area of examination methods related to pathology of the female reproductive system.
Students know the basic principles of collecting, handling, processing techniques and interpretation of cytodiagnostic and biopsy samples. Students perform basic and specialised tasks in cytodiagnostic and biopsy departments. Students are oriented in basic ultrasound diagnostics of pathologies of the female reproductive system. Students assist in diagnostic methods in urogynaecology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Completion of the established number of teaching hours of practicum sessions (only 15% of excused absence can be credited). Successful completion of an oral or written examination according to the decision of the guarantor of the study.
