Course content

Deepening knowledge and skills in the area of handling healthcare devices in the operating room. Deepening knowledge and skills in the area of handling instrumentarium. Fundamentals of instrumentation during abdominal surgery - practice. Fundamentals of instrumentation during vaginal surgery - practice. Fundamentals of instrumentation during endoscopic surgery - practice. Fundamentals of instrumentation in connection with pregnancy - practice. Fundamentals of instrumentation in connection with childbirth - practice.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to master the instrumentation techniques and related specialized nursing care in the operating room.
Students know the principles of instrumentation and all the healthcare equipment used during surgical procedures. Students perform all the duties of the assisting and circulating midwife in the operating room. Students know and perform basic instrumentation for all types of gynaecological surgeries.

Oral examination, Student performance assessment
Completion of compulsory 85% attendance at the practicum sessions. Successful completion of a written test or oral examination.
