Course content
Observational internship (excursion) takes place in facilities that are recommended to students for subsequent continuous internship, such as in long-term care hospitals, infant care centres, in facilities providing social services, rehabilitation facilities, children's homes, etc. It is supplemented by professional lectures. Observational internship is planned for 8 hours/day, i.e. for 40 hours per week.

Learning outcomes
The aim of internship is to develop professional competences of students and their reflective and critical thinking abilities and to encourage continuing education through learning objectives and activities during the internship. To gain practical skills and to compare theoretical ideas concerning health and social work with their practical implementation. The aim of internship supervision is to guide, support, and monitor the student during the internship in the workplace. Supervision aims to develop a culture of ethics in health and social work, to develop skills, to develop the ability to work in a team, and to develop reflection and self-reflection skills. The specific objective of observational practice (excursion) is to acquaint students with specific facilities that provide social and health and social services and to become familiar with their basic mission and target groups. Observational internship is supplemented by lectures. Students can address such questions that help them handle a variety of situations during the internship and integrate experience and knowledge.
During the observational internship, the student has a basic view and information on facilities that provide social and health and social services and is well versed in their basic mission and target groups. He or she can identify and record relevant information about the facility in the Professional excursion record.
