Course content

The concept of supervision, historical development and context. Functions of supervision. Types of supervision. Aims of supervision, roles and expectations, assignment. The personality of the supervisor and supervisee, the supervisory relationship. Supervision contract, contracting, parties to the contract. Selected approaches in supervision. Ethics in supervision. Context of the organization in supervision. Supervision case studies. Promoting the process of reflection and self-reflection. Balint form of work. Creative techniques in supervision. Supervision based on a task-oriented approach.

Learning outcomes
|
The course Supervision in health and social work precedes the students' professional internship and its aim is to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge about supervision and, through experiential learning, to support their ability to use supervision effectively as a tool for their own professional development.
Students know the basic theoretical framework of supervision in health and social work.
