Course content
The historical development and context of supervision in the CR and the concept of supervision at present. Functions of supervision - educational, supportive, and managerial. Supervision and selected psychological rules of relationships in the assistance process. Forms of supervision - possibilities and limitations. The supervision contract as a process, recontracting, and models of supervision. Creative techniques in supervision, possibilities for their use, and risks. Group work and Balint groups. Ethics in supervision and the supervisor. Education in supervision - professional preparation, accreditation, and training. The important of supervision in health and social. Supervision in Standards for quality in social services. Self-experiential group using Balint procedures. Reflection of a Balint group and its contribution to work with clients belonging to various target groups, group discussion. Case studies. Presentation of assignment work and discussion.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to master reflection on the content and process of the supervisee's own work. Emphasis is placed on the perception of supervision as an integral part of the student's and subsequently the health and social worker's professional and personal growth.
Students have not only theoretical knowledge of supervision (definition, forms and goals, the supervisor's and supervisee's position, and ethics of the supervision process); they have practical experience with supervision in a self-experiential group.

Written examination, Student performance assessment

Completion of compulsory 70% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions.
