Course content

Health and social policy - definition, basic terms. The role of preventive medicine and public health in the system of public health care. General epidemiology and methods of its work. Hygiene and epidemiology in the issue of public health protection. Occurrence of infectious diseases and its prevention. Addiction issues. Occupational medicine. Prevention of civilization diseases. Social marketing. Health statistics and demography. Addiction issues. Occurrence of infectious diseases and its prevention.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the complex issues of state health policy with a priority focus on prevention supporting health.
Students know the priorities and strategies of health and social policy, they accept legislative and methodological recommendations related to the issue, they are able to plan, lead, and evaluate the care in midwifery and to prevent undesirable situations that result from the implementation of midwifery care in a multidisciplinary team.

Fulfilment of 60% compulsory attendance at lectures. Fulfilment of 80% compulsory attendance at seminars. Fulfilment of the assigned written work. Passing the oral exam.
