Course content
|
Introduction to the study of the subject, basic concepts of legal theory. Basic EU documents, primary and secondary law. EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. Basic concepts of constitutional law, Constitution, Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. Civil law, concept, subject matter, sources, participants in civil law relations. Legal capacity, support measures in case of impairment of the legal capacity of an adult. Protection of personality, compensation for damage. Counting of time, real rights, community of property, inheritance law. Law of obligations. Labour law, concept, subject matter, sources. Labour relations and dependent work. Mediation, out-of-court settlement, arbitration. Judicial system of the Czech Republic, provision of legal aid. Basic concepts of commercial law and insolvency proceedings. Administrative law, concept, subject, sources, acts. Administrative procedure. Parties to proceedings at first instance, appeal proceedings, exceptional remedies. Basic concepts of judicial review of administrative decisions, constitutional complaint. Administrative and judicial execution. Social security law, concept, subject matter, sources, information sources, authorities.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to comprehensively acquaint students with the basic issues of private, public, health, family and criminal law to the extent that they can apply the acquired knowledge in the practice of a health and social worker.
Students learn the given issues in the scope of the syllabus of lectures and seminars, and they apply their knowledge in practical activities of a health and social worker.

Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Work-related product analysis
Specified compulsory attendance in seminars and lectures. Passing a written test or an oral exam, or other conditions, as decided by the course guarantor. Completing ana presenting 2 credit assignments. Preparation of a petition to a court or public authority.
