Course content
Social work with families - work with functional and dysfunctional families. Family dynamics and family myths. Social work with the community - past and present work with the community. Understanding the community and its social issues, identification of the target group. The system of social services in the community, social work with the society. Practical demonstration and practice: individual social work. Practical demonstration and practice: work with the family. Practical demonstration and practice: social work with groups. Practical demonstration and practice: social work with the community. Social administration.

Learning outcomes
The subject aims for social work students to acquire a basic overview of the development of social work and its legitimacy, to accept the values of social work, become familiar with the terminology of social work, become well versed in the main currents of thought affecting the development of social work, and to know the theoretical models relevant for social work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Work-related product analysis, Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures and practicum sessions. Successful completion of a knowledge test before an oral examination. Successful completion of an oral examination.
