Course content
Multicultural nursing: Introduction. Quality and safety in health care, quality indicators, management of sentinel events. Standards and audits in health care, nursing documentation. Accreditation and certification of the medical facility. Research in midwifery. The regulatory system for the nursing practice, the system of lifelong education, registration. Evidenced based practise. The care specifics in midwifery practice among members of ethnic national minorities in the Czech Republic - the solution of model situations analysis, case study. The specifics of care in midwifery practice for members of a religious society - solving model situations, analysis, case study. Risk Management in midwifery. The formation of standards in the midwifery - practical preparation, analysis of independent work. Planning of care in midwifery, maps care - practical preparation, analysis of individual work.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theory of the field, history and development with a focus on midwifery, a significant personality, methodology - the process in midwifery practice, the needs of the person with an orientation to the woman and the child, multiculturalism.
Student applies the knowledge gained in the care in the midwifery practice of woman and child.
