Course content
|
Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Labour and delivery and preterm labour and delivery. Bleeding in pregnancy. Extrauterine pregnancy. Preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, embolism in pregnancy, obstetrical haemorrhage. Complications in the third stage of labour and postpartum complications. Bleeding from the genitals in gynaecology, adnexal torsion, pelveoperitonitis, pain in the hypogastrium. Nursing care in the first stage of labour. Nursing care in the second, third, and fourth stage of labour. Examination of the woman in labour before and during labour and delivery. Practicing an independent direction of the labour and delivery process.

Learning outcomes
|
Taking into consideration the profession of a health care professional - the paramedic, the aim of the course is to acquaint students with illnesses and conditions during which a woman's life may be jeopardized.
The student knows and is able to provide qualified premedical aid in cases of bleeding from the genitals, in pregnancy, and during labour and delivery outside of a healthcare institution.

Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test.
