Course content
Asymmetric genitals. Urogynaecology. Examination methods in urogynaecology. Inflammation of female genital organs. Laboratory diagnosis of inflammation. Sexually transmitted diseases, including how they relate to pregnancy. Health, social and economic consequences of gynaecologic inflammation. The organization and system of work and equipment in the department of surgical gynaecology. Pre-operative and post-operative care, post-operative complications. Nursing care of women undergoing a minor gynaecological surgery. Nursing care of women undergoing a minimally invasive surgery. Nursing care of women undergoing an abdominal surgery. The organization and system of work and equipment in operating rooms. Fundamentals of instrumentation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge and skills in the area of aetiology, diagnostics and treatment of gynaecological inflammation, sexually transmitted diseases, and non-malignant and malignant tumours of the genitals.
Students will know the basics of urogynaecology, especially the issue of urinary incontinence in women, and also other urological complications in gynaecology. Students will be able to participate in the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological inflammation and tumours of female genitals.

Completion of compulsory attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written or oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision. Completing assigned written work (development and defence - seminar work, presentation, group work, model nursing plan, educational material, case study).
