Course content
|
Professional training with supervision takes place in health institutions focused on internal, surgical, psychiatric, children´s wards (social care wards in hospitals, children´s homes, children´s centres, hospices, specialized therapeutic institutes, etc. - 30 hours a week.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the professional training is to develop the professional competences of the students, their ability of reflection and critical thinking, to challenge them for further education through the aims of learning and activities during their professional training. The aim is also to obtain practical skills and compare theoretical ideas about medical and social work to its practical implementation. The aim of professional training supervision is to guide, support and check the student during the professional training at a working place. The student is able to solve such kind of questions which can help him to proceed various situations during the professional training, to integrate his experience and information. Supervision is aimed to develop ethics culture of medical and social work, to develop the skills of working in a team, reflection and self-reflection. In the course of Professional training with supervision we talk about the supervision in a small group of students, in well-founded cases it is possible to give the student an individual supervision.
The student obtains the experience in social relations in organizations which are aimed to provide medical and social services under a specialized supervision of a charged worker of the organization. An inseparable part of the professional tranining is a supervision. The course Professional training with supervision in the range of 720 lessons is completed with the course of Individual professional training in the range of 320 lessons. The entire number of professional training lessons in the field of study Medical and social worker is 1040 lessons. At health and social institutions the number of needed lessons weekly is 30 because of working hours (6 hours a day). Observation professional training, training at state control institutions is planned for 8 hours a day, therefore 40 hours.

Assessment methods and criteria

The fulfilment of stated practice, activities and case studies incuded in "The notebook of work, tasks and other specialized activities of a health and social worker." In case of more than 3 weeks justified absence it is necessary to be present at lessons during the main holidays or examination period. When the absence is longer than 5 weeks, the student has to apply for a grade resit or for an exceptional permission at the study guarantor. The student fulfils the professional training in institutions which provide social services and other connected services and in health institutions in the range of 6 hours a day. Observation training and specialized training in social sections at local authorities with extended spheres of activities, job centres and at working places of social welfare authorities is in the range of 8 hours a day. The fulfilment of 100% active presence in professional training. Experienced practitioner´s written assessment. Student´s written reflection.
