Identity of social work in healthcare, including target groups. Legislative definition of health and social work. Health and social work with the elderly and disabled. Health and social work with children and juveniles. Health and social work with underage pregnant mothers, with a family. Health and social work with people with mental illness. Health and social work with foreigners. Health and social work with minorities. Social history and social inquiry. Documentation of a health and social worker. The position of a health and social worker in a team. Ethical aspects of social work in healthcare. Written communication with institutions. Communication with family members.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to inform the students about the basics aspect of social work in heathcare, with probable types of clients and social consequences of illnesses.
Students are familiar with the psychosocial aspects of the disease, they can apply various methods of social work in the medical environment, and they can work with specific target groups of clients.
