Course content
Irregularities in the birth canal. Disorders of the pushing forces. Induction of labour. Premature leakage of amniotic fluid. Irregular foetal position and presentation. Shoulder dystocia. Irregularities in the 3rd stage of labour. Obstetric operations - in connection with childbirth. Infections during labour and delivery. Pathological postpartum.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with irregularities and complications during childbirth and the postpartum period. This is an extremely serious obstetric issue, which in practice requires a team of midwives and a doctor to deal with serious obstetric complications.
Students provide care in midwifery to women with irregularities and complications during labour and puerperium.
