Course content
Screening methods and the content of the subspecialty of high-risk and pathological pregnancy. Premature birth, postterm pregnancy, prolonged pregnancy. Intrauterine growth retardation. Rh isoimmunization. Multiple pregnancy. Early gestosis. Hypertensive conditions in pregnancy. Kidney and urinary tract conditions in pregnancy. Gastrointestinal tract conditions in pregnancy. Blood conditions in pregnancy. Cardiovascular conditions in pregnancy. Lung conditions in pregnancy. Endocrine conditions in pregnancy. Diabetes mellitus in pregnancy. Skin conditions in pregnancy. Neurological and psychiatric conditions in pregnancy. Malignant conditions in pregnancy. Autoimmune conditions in pregnancy. Infectious diseases and sexually transmitted diseases in pregnancy.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to acquaint students with conditions during pregnancy that require special care, with modern diagnostic methods and also with important social issues associated with these conditions.
Students use their knowledge of issues associated with high-risk pregnancy in the delivery of comprehensive care to the pregnant woman based on her individual needs. Students develop practical skills to manage high-risk pregnancy states, such as interventions and a global nursing care of the woman's individual needs in the course of this clinical state. Students master specialized examination methods, which are a part of the diagnosis of high-risk states in prenatal care.

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Successful completion of a written test.
