Course content
|
The organization and system of work and equipment in the department conservative gynaecology. Nursing care in the conservative therapy of stress incontinence and asymmetric genitals. Participation of midwifes in examination methods in urogynaecology. Methods of treatment of gynaecological inflammation, administration of antimicrobial therapy, balneotherapy. Nursing care of women with the diagnosis of adnexitis and pelveoperitonitis. The participation of midwifes in the prevention and diagnosis of tumours of female genitals and the breast. Nursing care of women after breast ablation. Nursing care during chemotherapy, prevention and treatment of adverse effects. Nursing care during actinotherapy. Nursing care of women receiving palliative treatment for cancer and terminal care.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge and skills in the area of aetiology, diagnostics and treatment of gynaecological inflammation, sexually transmitted diseases, and non-malignant and malignant tumours of the genitals.
Students will know the basics of urogynaecology and will understand issues related to diagnosis and treatment of gynaecologic inflammation and tumours of female genitals. Students will be able to create standard nursing care plans and implement the nursing process with emphasis on prevention and ethical decision making. Students will apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, psychology and ethics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions. Completing assigned written work (development and defence - seminar work, presentation, group work, model nursing plan, educational material, case study. Successful completion of an oral examination.
