Course content
|
Ectopic pregnancy. Spontaneous abortion. Artificial termination of pregnancy. Precipitous delivery, first aid in childbirth outside the institution. Nosocomial infection in obstetrics. Death of a woman in connection with pregnancy. Legal and social protection of pregnant women, expectant mothers and postpartum women. Ethical issues in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the course of gravidity, labour and delivery, and puerperium, with the possible complications and risk factors.
Students build on knowledge of anatomy and physiology, embryology and genetics and use knowledge from the field of internal medicine. Students understand obstetrical issues and use both theoretical and practical knowledge of the field in practical courses.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Successful completion of a written or oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.
