Course content
Practical internship is carried out: - in social services and related services - in healthcare facilities - in state administration and local government Practical internship is carried out under the professional guidance of an authorized employee of the organization where the internship takes place. An integral part of professional practice is supervision, the aim of which is to guide, support, and monitor students during their professional practice. Supervision is aimed at developing a culture and ethics of health and social work, developing skills, and developing the ability to work in a team, as well as reflection and self-reflection skills. Supervision is carried out in the form of individual development-oriented supervision and in the form of supportive and case supervision in groups of 8-12 students. The subject Supervised Practical Internship, comprising 680 hours, is preceded by the subject Observational Practical Internship, comprising 40 hours, and the subject Supervision in Health and Social Work. It is further supplemented by the subject Individual Practical Internship, comprising 320 hours. The total number of hours of practical training within the Health and Social Care study program is 1040 hours. Supervised Practical Internship Supervised Practical Internship, with a total of 680 hours, is carried out in blocks. Students complete a set number of hours, either 30 or 40 hours per week. For healthcare and social services facilities, the weekly hour allocation is set at 30 hours per week. For practical internships in state administration and local government, the weekly allocation is set at 40 hours per week. Focus of the internship Health and social work in healthcare facilities ? 4 weeks (4 x 30 hours = 120 hours)

Learning outcomes
The aim of professional practice is to develop students' professional competencies, their abilities of reflection, self-reflection, and critical thinking, and to encourage further education through learning objectives and activities within professional practice.
The aim is also to obtain practical skills and compare theoretical ideas about medical and social work to its practical implementation.

Credit is awarded to students based on: - 100% active participation at the professional practice - 100% active participation at the supervision. - Fulfilment of specialised performances and procedures included in "Record of procedures, performances and other professional activities for students studying the study programme Health and Social Care". - making case studies according to given target groups - written evaluation of an authorised employee at the workplace where students fulfil their practice The professional practice exam in the 2nd year includes: - Presentation of a chosen case study - Knowledge of basic social counselling in relation to the chosen topic - Knowledge related to the chosen topic (methods and techniques of social work, legislation, causes, manifestations, treatment and development of the disease, ethical aspects)
