Course content
Analysis of the current state care for people with mental illness. Specifics of health and social work with persons with mental illness. Principles of communication with persons with mental illness. Curative rehabilitation of persons with mental illness. Community psychiatry. Transformation of psychiatric care. Social and vocational rehabilitation of persons with mental illness. Competences of community worker in the field of mental health care. The role of the nonprofit sector in education, (re)habilitation and (re)socialization of people with mental illness. Provision of social services for people with mental illness. Leisure, housing, activational activities focusing on individuals with mental illness. Specific dilemmas in health and social work with persons with mental illness.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to establish, in the framework of interdisciplinary relationships, already acquired knowledge, skills and competences of the target group of people with special needs due to mental illness and extend these findings.
The student will acquire the specifics of health and social work with individuals with mental illness. He/ she knows the principles of communication with people with various mental illnesses, their rights and he/ she is specialized in comprehensive rehabilitation. He/ she applies competences of community worker in the field of mental health care.

The fulfilment of compulsory 80 % attendance at seminars. Processing seminary work on assigned topic.
