Course content
The practical internship is focused on outpatient care, midwifery care of pregnant women and women with risky pregnancies, care in the delivery rooms and in puerperium, care of newborns in the neonatal ward, care in the gynaecological ward including operating theatres, care in the woman's own social environment. Teaching takes place in hospital facilities, private practices and private midwives' offices. Teaching is under the guidance of an academic staff member of the FHS or a mentor/trainer of the practical internship. Performances carried out during the practical internship are recorded in the "Record of Professional Activities, Care and Education in Midwifery." Learning outcomes
The aim of professional practice is to acquire practical experience from real practice, which are important for professional development and understanding of the differences in meeting the needs of women with gyneacological diseases, physiological, risk and pathological pregnant women, maternal and women in puerperium.
Students will learn about the structure of midwifery care, the different forms of midwifery care in outpatient departments, one-day, inpatient and home health services, especially the organisation of health services in the context of care of women and children. They will learn basic midwifery skills.

Fulfilling the specified performances and processes in midwifery contained in the Record of Professional Activities, Care and Education in Midwifery. Credit in the 3rd year - 100% active participation in the practical internship - written presentation of midwifery care in the form of a midwifery process with a selected client - written evaluation of the practical internship by the mentor - written reflection of the student
