Course content
Professional practice is carried out in the third year in state administration and self-government institutionsand under the professional guidance of an authorized employee of the organization in which the practice takes place - the range of supervised professional practice - social work in state administration and self-government - (4 x 40 hours) An integral part of the professional practice is a supervision, the aim of which is to perform, support and control students during their professional practice. The supervision aims at the development of culture, ethics of health and social work, the development of skills and the development of the ability to work in team, skills of reflection and self-reflection. Within the subject Professional practice with supervision, it is a supervision in small groups of students, in legitimate situations it can be an individual supervision. The course Professional practice with a supervision, with the total of 670 hours, is preceded with the course Professional practice with an observation, with the total of 40 hours, and the course Supervision in Health and social work. It is then completed with the course Individual professional practice, with the total of 320 hours. The total number of hours of professional practice is for the study programme Health and Social Care 1030.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the professional training is to develop the professional competences of the students, their ability of reflection and critical thinking, to challenge them for further education through the aims of learning and activities during their professional training.
The aim is also to obtain practical skills and compare theoretical ideas about medical and social work to its practical implementation.

Students get credit for: - 100% active participation at the professional practice - 100% active participation at the supervision. - Fulfilment of specialised performances and procedures included in "Record of procedures, performances and other professional activities for students studying the study programme Health and Social Care". - making case studies according to given target groups - written evaluation of an authorised employee at the workplace where students fulfil their practice
