Social medicine, definition, history. The preventive focus of medical care. Community-based care. Systems of health care and their development. The world health organization. The priorities of 21st Century medicine. The programme health 21. Organization and management of health care. Quality of life, patient satisfaction, and methods of its determination. The system of financing health care in the CR. Health insurance. The health care system in the CR. Demographics. Methods to study the population's health status. Development of the health status of the population in the CR. The issue of HIV/AIDS. Social values in health care.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the scientific branch of social medicine according to the syllabus.
Students will master the definition, history and content of social medicine, student is familiar with the problems of primary, secondary and tertiary care. Student is versed in the systems of health care and their development. The lstudent knows the priorities of medicine for 21. century, the systems of financing health care in the Czech republic and methods of detection of clients ' satisfaction with the quality of provided healthcare.

The fulfilment of compulsory attendance at lectures and seminars. Written test or oral exam fulfilment according to course guarantor decision.
