Social medicine, definition, history. Determinants of health. Methods of studying the health status of the population. Development of the health status of the population of the Czech Republic. The preventive focus of medical care. Systems of health care and their development. The health care system in the Czech Republic. Quality of life, patient satisfaction, and methods of its determination. Demographics Types of health care. The system of financing health care in the CR. DRG systém. Social values in health care.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the scientific branch of social medicine according to the syllabus.
Students will master the definition, history and content of social medicine, student is familiar with the problems of primary, secondary and tertiary care. Student is versed in the systems of health care and their development. The lstudent knows the priorities of medicine for 21. century, the systems of financing health care in the Czech republic and methods of detection of clients ' satisfaction with the quality of provided healthcare.
