Course content
Religion and a contemporary American society: pluralistic paradigm. Islam in the USA. Buddhism and Indian religions in the USA. The Counter-culture movement and religion. New religious movements in the USA, the "Cult Wars". Religion in the "Culture Wars". Texts, as well as topics, will be connected with the topics of ANPL1.

Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to deepen the lectured topics. The character of seminars will be based on readings from historical as well as contemporary documents, as well as on writing a seminar paper.
Students will practise reading in a foreign language and will compose a scholarly text. Students will be able to interpret a topic assigned to them.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Work-related product analysis

The course requires attendance at seminars, a written seminar paper, and an oral interpretation of a prepared topic. ANPL1 and ANP2 are completed by an oral examination.
