Learning outcomes

Students will be introduced to basic terminology, patterns and concepts of migration as a historic and sociological phenomenon. The importance of migration in history, mainly from the 19th century to the present day will be mentioned. As a part of the phenomenon of ethnic groups in the new environment, basic information about Czech migration to the European countries as well as to other continents (mainly to the USA) will be covered. Current situation of the Czech communities will be mentioned.
