Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to present the cultural significance of psychedelic substances, the history and social context of its use and the social statute of psychedelic substances users. The course will not only focus on selected psychedelic substances and its social function in related cultural areas, but it will also observe its chemical structure and physiological effect on human organism.
Students will acquire the basic overview of the most important psychedelic substances and of the cultural context of its use. At the same time they will be able of cross-cultural comparison of the problematics.
