Course content |
General principles of project management, historical development, present state. Subject, function and purpose of the project, content, phases and principles of project management. Knowledge and skills for project management, systematic attitude, actors, processes. Processing and fulfilling the project plan. Time management. Management of project costs. Management of quality and risks of project. Personal management and management of communication (consultations, presentations). General principles of team work: specifics, methods, team types, team leaders. Sociological research and specifics of its projecting. Public need as a prerequisite for sociological research. Consulting process and expert sociological work.

Learning outcomes |
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to general principles of and attitudes to project work and project management. Students will gain practical information and skills connected with the work of customers and project designers, they will check their ability to work in team and deal with problems within given scope.
Students will gain useful knowledge and acquirements related to the function of project submitter and processor, prove their ability to teamwork and solve practical problems in accordance with project submission. |

Assessment methods and criteria |
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation
The necessary prerequisite for the assignment is an acknowledged individual share in the project team work (students of the part-time study programme will make individual introductory project of a specialised study). The examination will be taken in the form of individual written test (30 questions, over 75% correct answers - students of the full-time study programme). Those who fail the test will be examined orally. |
