Course content
History of non-profit sector in the Czech republic, philantrophy, charity Principles of civil society and the role of non-profit sector Definition of non-profit (civil) sector Volunteering in non-profit organisations and approaches to the confidence in the society. Definitions and character of non-profit organisations. Principles of non-profit sector. VPO concept. Areas of non-profit organisations activities. Structure of non-profit sector in the Czech republic. Specifics of dotation sector. Non-profit organisations and business sector. Social economy. Non- profit organisation and public administration. Problems of non-profit sector building in the Czech republic. Information sources of non-proft sector. Media image of non-profit sector.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to emphasize the role of non-profit sector phenomena in the creation of civil socitety and inter-sector cooperation.
Students will intensify their knowledge of non-profit sector in the Czech republic, they will be familiarized with therminology, they will be able of analitical work with sources and information about non-profit sector.
