Learning outcomes

The main goal of the course is to familiarize students with the elementary principles related to the experimental method of discrete simulation on digital computers. After completing the course the students will be able to use the basic approaches to the experimental method of discrete simulation and its applications.
After completing the course the students will be able to use the basic approaches to the experimental method of discrete simulation and its applications. The students can implement simulation programmes (typically using a specific simulation tool) and apply the basic techniques of discrete simulation.
Prerequisites
The students should have basic knowledge of programming techniques, data structures, mathematical statistics and theory of probability.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation
For completing the computer labs a student has to implement specified simulation programmes which exploit the basic modelling/simulation techniques.
